DR. ROBERT O. WHITE, II
My name is Pastor Robert O. White II and I am pastor of the Montgomery City of Refuge. After 11 years in pastoral ministry in Greenville, Alabama, my wife and I after a year of rest, began the second phase of our pastoral journey by establishing MCOR for the purpose of spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Montgomery Community and the entire world.
Pastor’s Story
Dr. White is an educator, legal analyst and pastor with over 25 years of professional experience. He has taught in higher education for over twenty years and has accumulated a wealth of experience over the course of his professional career. He served as in-house legal counsel for the Alabama Education Association and interim Director of Voter Registration and Elections for the Secretary of State’s Office. He has served as government liaison and lobbyist for government and professional development agencies as well. He is co-founder of the first registered African American alternative energy company in the state of Alabama; Quail Energy. He has produced several radio talk shows, contributed to many scholarly works, published 3 books and is currently finishing three more on the topic of civil rights and spirituality. He has given scores of scholarly presentations and has served on many academic and community committees. He has served in leadership capacities in the AFL-CIO, the Alabama Education Association and is currently the president of the Alabama State University Education Association and on the National Education Association Editorial Board. He is currently along with his wife pastoring the Montgomery City of Refuge and the Greenville City of Refuge. He has been a member of the distinguished faculty of Alabama State University for over 20 years and also serves as adjunct instructor for other local colleges. He is married to Nichelle White (22 years) and has one daughter (Charity) and many students that he has mentored over the years. His passion and conviction is raising the consciousness of today’s young people and winning the lost for Jesus Christ
